Many clients visit us when they are at the planning stage of a new kitchen extension which is a perfect time to start thinking about a bespoke kitchen design. Once you have finalised your kitchen design you will be happy in the knowledge that your new building plans will facilitate a kitchen that works in every way you envisaged for the lifestyle you lead.

When Mr and Mrs R extended their kitchen they knew exactly what they wanted to achieve in their family kitchen as they had already been living in the detached property. It’s a good idea to consolidate your thoughts on how you would like to use the space before you start the planning process. Having partly extended the property already they were experts in the art of the possible and have now created a wonderful new space for the whole family to enjoy.

The type of cooker you choose will often set the tone for the style of your kitchen. In this kitchen an Ilve Moderna was chosen, blending tradition with the elegant simplicity of stainless steel. A shaker mantle was styled around the range cooker with cupboards for oils and herbs conveniently located either side of the range. Farrow and Ball ‘Cornforth White’, a timeless classic, was selected to finish the main kitchen cabinets with Victorian nickel cup handles and knobs picked for the door furniture. A white quartz backsplash completes this classic kitchen mantel

The kitchen island, painted in ‘Hague Blue’ from Farrow and Ball contrasts wonderfully with the ‘Cornforth White’ cabinets. The island is conveniently located next to the range, with three long drawers to provide plenty of room for all the cooking implements, pans and baking trays. Kitchen preparation can now take place at the island whilst the children do their homework with a snack and the kitchen island comes into full effect when entertaining guests.

Low level cabinetry has been used to zone the kitchen but it retains an open plan feel with wall cabinets reserved for the rear walls. This creates a sense of openness and allows light to flood in from the kitchen windows, roof lantern and patio doors into the dining zone.

The shaker paneling on the back of the cabinets perfectly complements the large traditional larder cabinet in the dining area. And, because everything we make is made to measure for each individual client, we wrapped the cabinets flawlessly around the supporting pillar and created a functional cupboard beneath it.

The larder cabinet with bifold doors is the perfect baking station, complete with a quartz worktop, Kitchen Aid mixer, authentic weighing scales and a multitude of cookery books and baking equipment.

We were delighted to hear Mr and Mrs R’s complete satisfaction with our bespoke design, build and installation service.
