This gorgeous classic kitchen renovation was installed by Handcrafted Kitchens in a beautiful property set in private Cheshire parkland. A secluded location but within easy access for commuting and perfect for the modern family. The owners were keen to update this detached property to suit a more contemporary lifestyle so the traditional kitchen, dining and living room layout has been replaced with open plan living.

The removal of the ground floor internal walls at the rear of the house together with an extension has made way for an open plan kitchen and living area looking out into the garden. The bespoke kitchen, in two complementary colour tones, features in frame cabinetry and solid oak drawers. The large kitchen island is a central bespoke feature designed with an inset sink, dishwasher, seating for two and clever storage. The beauty of bespoke furniture is that you can work kitchen design around awkward features such as nibs and RSJ’s in a home that has been extended.

The bespoke larder cabinet in this bespoke kitchen fits perfectly around the nib of the extension and underneath the RSJ. The extractor for the induction hob has been concealed in an attractive bespoke classic kitchen mantel and the twin cookers positioned carefully next to each other adjacent to the kitchen island and within close proximity to the sink and hob.

You may ask, how do you start to achieve my dream kitchen renovation? If you are thinking about extending your home and have plans from an architect, it’s always best to consult your kitchen designer at the outset and preferably before the building plans are finalised. At this stage it will be easier to alter the build if there is a anything that may obstruct your perfect kitchen design.

At Handcrafted Kitchens we will take the time to discuss with you how you want to use your kitchen and listen to your ideas looking at any mood boards you may have. We will provide you with a plan free of charge and quote individually the cost of cabinetry, appliances and worktops so that you know exactly how to plan your budget. Once you are happy with your plans we can then bring your kitchen to life with CAD drawings so that you can envisage exactly how your kitchen will look in your home.

As you can see from this testimonial our clients were as delighted as we were with their kitchen installation. It always means so much to us to receive such positive feedback from clients.

“Right from making first contact with Warren, we knew that Handcrafted Kitchens would be able to create a bespoke kitchen to suit our requirements.

Warren took our initial sketches and turned them into photorealistic images of his proposal, which made it so easy to visualise and adjust the design to exactly what we wanted. Handcrafted Kitchens were able to implement some unique features to help our kitchen fit round the challenging geometry of our room which has made a huge difference to the space.

The design, manufacture and fitting of the kitchen was first class, with the woodworking skills of Warren and his team obvious as soon as we saw the first parts arrive. The quality of the wood, handles and paintwork, all chosen to fulfil our brief sets the kitchen apart from any we have seen either mass produced or handmade elsewhere.

The end result is something that delivers a definite ‘wow’ factor and would not have been possible without the patience and talent of Warren and the Handcrafted team.”

Of course there are certain activities in a kitchen which you don’t want to show off. So in this kitchen design there is a separate utility room designed in the same style as the main kitchen but in more cost effective materials. Small, but beautifully in proportion with cabinets to conceal the boiler, washer and dryer and with storage facilities for laundry, ironing board, buckets and mop and an inset sink.

Bespoke kitchens allow you to make use of every part of the room even when there are some odd areas that might seem unusable. The design of this extension left a small gap, once a doorway, in which we designed and fitted another smaller larder unit complete with spice racks, microwave, solid oak drawers, shelves and a quartz work surface.
