A kitchen mantel can make a statement within your kitchen design as a focal point and set the tone in a bespoke kitchen.

At Handcrafted Kitchens all our kitchen mantels are made to order, giving a great design opportunity to have a special part of your kitchen made into a unique feature. Whether in a classic shaker kitchen or country rustic kitchen surrounding a range, aga, or hob, each mantel is made to your exact specification.

Add the finishing touch with a kitchen clock, treasured ornament or quirky objects d’art, and your personality will shine throughout your kitchen.

At Handcrafted Kitchens, our shaker mantel is a favourite.  The beautiful shaker panelling, incorporating the extractor, sets off the mantel shelf perfectly. Secret solid oak oil and spice drawers are a wonderful additional storage solution in the vertical shaker panelling surrounding the chimney breast.

A half mantel is a great choice to maximise the work surface around the range. Make a feature statement by positioning on a separate wall with arched brackets.

Alternatively chose the simple elegant shaker panel with curved or angular brackets mounted snug beside wall cabinets.

A traditional plastered mantel using an old fireplace is a classic choice. If you don’t have a fireplace we can construct out of plaster to give the impression it has been there for years. Often when kitchen extensions are built there is an unwanted knib that we can transform into the surround, to create a beautiful design feature.

Ceiling mounted mantels are space saving and work well in a small kitchen, giving a nod to tradition but a simpler clean look with a mantel shelf, incorporating the extractor.

No mantle integrated hood

If you like the idea of integrating the extractor into the cabinets but don’t want a more scandi kitchen feel, why not simply use shaker panelling above the hob.

Alternatives to concealing extraction are numerous – from the industrial stainless steel hood to a discrete downdraft positioned in the work surface or a ceiling canopy. We have a wealth of experience and can recommend the right solution for your kitchen.
