Our clients found Handcrafted Kitchens, the perfect choice to design and make their teenage children’s bedroom and study furniture.
Recommended by a friend who commissioned us to make their bespoke bedroom and bathroom cabinets, they were confident that we could make the individual, quality, hand made furniture they were looking for. Our philosophy for the design and build of bedroom furniture is exactly the same as with our hand made kitchens, we design bedroom furniture to suit you. All our cabinets are made to order which means we can tailor them to your exact needs, your choice of size, finish and budget. We don’t have a have a brochure because everything we make is unique and we pride ourselves in being able to turn our hand to make almost anything you ask us to make.
It was important to our clients that their children were involved in the design of their bedroom furniture. Equally, they wanted the furniture to stand the test of time and of course for it to be in keeping with the character of their gorgeous Victorian property in Hale.
It was essential to chose bespoke furniture to ensure that the cabinetry was in proportion with the generously sized rooms, made the best use of space and in particular, to accommodate the pitched roof in the loft extension. Free standing furniture has given the ultimate flexibility should they need to move the arrangement of the rooms in the future.
A range of Classic Shaker style bedroom furniture, painted in soft ivory was designed for Issi’s bedroom and study. Whilst solid oak with contrasting walnut frame cabinets were chosen for Marcus’s study bedroom to reflect the urban styling of the loft extension.
Ivory was the perfect choice for the Classic Shaker furniture to complement the contemporary pink and green colour scheme used on the walls and furnishings. A large wardrobe with internal drawers, hanging rail and shelf was positioned next to her bed together with twin bedside cabinets and a dressing table.
Walking through the Jack and Jill bathroom into her study, complete with sofabed, we made a large desk with drawers to sit in the bay window to sit between the ladder libraries on the wall. Matching freestanding wardrobes either side of the doors to the bathroom completed the study which acts as an occasional guest room.
In Marcus’s bedroom, in order to make the best use of space in the loft conversion, the wardrobe was shaped to fit the apex of the roof.
We also made designed matching drawers and a bedside table. In the study area of his bedroom we made a large desk with drawers to sit below the window and bespoke storage was made to fit neatly at the base of the pitched ceiling.
The children now have excellent facilities to both work and play which is such a great investment in their future.
